Michael Kightly? Now there's a loan signing!

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Michael Kightly remains available for a loan spell away from Molineux after Steve McClaren's departure from Nottingham Forest scuppered a deal between the two clubs for the winger to move to the City Ground.

The former non-league flier is looking for competitive match action a long injury break and, if Coventry City were showing any sign of ambition to improve their squad and keep their heads above Championship water, fit the bill perfectly for the Sky Blues.

A local move, a hungry player and someone with the creative spark in wide areas that City have lacked this season, to this writer at least it would seem like a deal worth pursuing.

Financially of course it may not add up but have the Sky Blues even asked the question?

Sadly the answer to that is probably no.

we could do with a boost

It's looking unlikely that we'll get anyone but if we did I would prefer a player like this who has experience but isn't playing rather than a youngster.
