Skipper Hughes in confident mood
Stephen Hughes believes that Coventry City can mount a serious promotion challenge this season after the arrival of a number of new faces in the summer.
The Sky Blues club captain told the official website: 'We are all really looking forward to it, we are itching to get out there and get started.
"We're going to give it everything to try and achieve that (promotion) and we would be disappointed if we didn't get in to the top half of the table and into the play-offs.
'I think it is realistic, last year we had great home form and we've got to keep that up and with the few acquisitions we have made hopefully they can improve the squad and we can kick on but we are under no illusions how difficult this league is going to be.'
