'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Some positive news - hopefully!!

It appears that the deal involving Jon Parkin coming to Coventry City as part of the Ben Turner deal is off as personal terms could not be agreed.

The positive news is that the Sky Blues have agreed a fee of around £400,000 with Premier League new boys Norwich City for 25 year old Cody McDonald.

He spent last season with Gillingham on loan in League 2 and netted 25 goals. According to reports he has long been a target of Andy Thorn and after passing a medical at Ryton it is hoped everything can be finalised this afternoon.

If all goes to plan it does represent a significant investment in the team in these difficult times and does give cause for some optimism that CCFC's owners realise the need for incoming as well as outgoing transfers. The proof of the pudding however will come when the window closes at 11pm and Thorn is left to count those players at his disposal for the upcoming months.
