Big Sam scuppers City bid?

Late on Friday evening the Telegraph (Daily not Coventry) website published a story that the takeover bid made for Coventry City earlier in the week has already been withdrawn due to concerns about links between one of the possible investors and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce.

The man in question is Ken Bruce, a director of two companies alongside West Ham United boss Allardyce.

Although Bruce has denied being part of the potential takeover he was present at a meeting recently between the club and the potential new owners and with concerns over potential conflicts of interest the bid is thought to have been withdrawn.

The full story can be read by clicking here but it is yet another tortuous twist in the tale of Coventry City and its potential new owners.

More news about the story broke on Saturday morning with The Sun claiming that they have exposed the links between Mr Bruce and Allardyce which have forced the bid to be shelved. Read their story by clicking here.

Gary Hoffman has laid the blame firmly at the feet of SISU for leaking the names of those involved in his bid but for City fans, unsure any more who is telling the truth about their club it all makes for depressing reading.

The Sun story in particular makes this Mr Bruce look fairly foolish to say the least
