Resurgent Boro next for Sky Blues

After a slightly more positive week to be a Coventry City fan with the first point of the season gained against Watford and (some) movement in terms of the future ownership of the club, Saturday brings with it a long trip to face a resurgent Middlesbrough outfit.

Tony Mowbray, strongly linked with the Sky Blues job after the departure of Chris Coleman in May 2010 is picking up the pieces after the short-lived reign of Gordon Strachan and, despite having to balance the books with a host of players leaving, has more than steadied the Riverside Stadium ship.

The midweek League Cup win at Peterborough was a fifth on the trot in all competition for Middesbrough and left Posh boss Darren Ferguson tipping them to be Championship contenders this season.

Both clubs would love to have a new striker on board in time for the weekend as the in-form Marvin Emnes is Mowbray's only fit option while Andy Thorn's frontmen remain willing but unable to find the target.

Adam Le Fondre may or may not have put in a transfer request at Rotherham United but with a takeover battle set to begin at the Ricoh Arena the chance of any new signings arriving in CV6 remain slim to say the least.

'We will be bold, we will attack and we will have a go,' Thorn told the official club website.
