Boavista preview

Portuguese side at the Ricoh this weekend

Coventry City round off their pre-season with a home game against Boavista of Portugal on Saturday.

The Panthers are the second biggest club in Portugal's second city Oporto and play their home games at the 28,000-capacity Estadio do Bessa.

League champions in 2001, they have also won five Portuguese cups and regularly play in Europe.

They are currently coached by ex-Benfica manager Manuel Jesualdo Ferreira and among the famous names to have appeared in their distinctive black-and-white chequred shirts in the past are Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Nuno Gomes and Armando Petit, the last two of whom were in Portugal's 2006 World Cup squad.
