Entertaining draw for Sky Blues

An easy-on-the-eye friendly at the b2net Stadium on Tuesday night ended in a 2-2 draw between Chesterfield and Coventry City.

Andy Thorn's side and their League One opposition looked to pass the ball along the floor at every opportunity and although the Sky Blues were pedestrian in their build-up at times in the first-half they had far more of a cutting edge after the break when the excellent Chris Hussey caused consistent problems out on the left flank.

Hussey had put City ahead on 40 minutes and had a hand in Lukas Jutkiewicz's goal. Dean Morgan equalised twice for Chesterfield and both sides had chances to win the game late on.

Thorn, who made just one change during the game, will have been pleased with the way his side moved the ball around after the break, with the width offered by his full-backs and the assured display of Conor Thomas who may have done enough to earn a start against Leicester in the Championship opener a week on Saturday.
