'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Countdown to kick-off

There are now just two weeks before the Football League fixtures for 2011/12 are published and Coventry City fans can begin plotting what they hope will be a successful season under Andy Thorn.

17 June is the date when the season gets that little bit clearer. Two weeks later and the transfer market will be in full swing as contracts end.

City's pre-season preparations take a step up on 26 July with a visit to League One newcomers Chesterfield while Premier League returnees Norwich City are coming to the Ricoh Arena on the 30th.

A week after that and it is the big kick-off with a Sky Blues side (hopefully) strengthened by Thorn over the coming weeks and months.

Transfer rumours have dropped off the radar slightly over the past few days as the football world enjoys a week or two in Spain (where Thorn was set to watch one of his targets this week) but they will soon crank up again as the new season draws ever closer.
