- Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor is reportedly keen on being reunited with James Scowcroft, a player he managed while at Leicester City.

- The Sky Blues have added trips to Banbury United on Monday 24 July and Kidderminster Harriers on Monday 1 August to their pre-season schedule.

- A second bid by Birmingham City for Gary McSheffrey has been rejected, but rumours about the player's future are unlikely to go away just yet with Sheffield United also thought to be interested.

- An approach to Birmingham by Colchester United for former City boss Eric Black has been turned down. The U's wanted Black, now a coach at St Andrew's to succeed Phil Parkinson.
