To Loan or not to Loan

With both Andy Thorn and Steve Harrison having signed their Coventry contracts, the way they now shape the team and style of play will be of interest and you wonder where any loan signings will fit in.

The fallout from Cardiff Citys' failure to make the playoff final has seen their 7 loan signings return to their parent clubs. You wonder what loyalty or team spirit is or can be generated when over half the side are their because their parent club does not want them or needs the income from their loan?

Last season at the Ricoh Aidy Boothroyd brought in Danny Ward from Bolton Wanderers. He played in 4 games and was a substitute in another, them became injured and returned to the Reebok. He was not any improvement on the players contracted to the club.

Elsewhere, according to current reports it seems that Keiren Westwood could be on his way to Sunderland with talks underway between the North East club and the Irish international.
