Blades join McSheffrey chase

Blades join McSheffrey chase

Newly-promoted Sheffield United have joined Birmingham City in expressing an interest in Coventry City forward Gary McSheffrey.

A £2m offer from Blues for the player was turned down last week and now reports suggest that a deal involving Geoff Horsfield moving to the Ricoh Arena could be on the cards.

After an encouraging summer in the transfer market however, selling a 23-year-old home-grown talent who scored 17 goals last season would be difficult to take for most Sky Blues fans.

money talks in this game and if an offer comes in that is acceptable then they should accept then look at replacing him with Billy Sharp or Eastwood not Horsfield

I wouldn't have thought Birmingham would have been very attractive to him, but the lure of the Premiership might be too much
