Blades join McSheffrey chase

Newly-promoted Sheffield United have joined Birmingham City in expressing an interest in Coventry City forward Gary McSheffrey.

A 2m offer from Blues for the player was turned down last week and now reports suggest that a deal involving Geoff Horsfield moving to the Ricoh Arena could be on the cards.

After an encouraging summer in the transfer market however, selling a 23-year-old home-grown talent who scored 17 goals last season would be difficult to take for most Sky Blues fans.

IT WAS ONLY HIS LOAN SPELLS AT LUTON THAT REVIVED CHEFS CAREER PRIOR TO THAT COV HAD ALMOST PUSHED HIM OUT THE DOOR,BUT WHEN HE STARTED BANGING GOALS IN FOR LUTON PEOPLE AT COV TOOK NOTICE AND ITS BEEN ONWARD AND UPWARD EVER SINCE, HE'S A GREAT LITTLE PLAYER WHO ABOUT TO MOVE ON TO BIGGER THINGS ,GOOD LUCK GARY ,YOUR STILL A HERO AT LUTON
