2010/11 key moments: Aidy arrives

With Chris Coleman`s Coventry City exit having been sealed by a dismal defeat at home to Watford at the end of the 2009/10 season, the new campaign would see yet another new man at the helm of the good ship Sky Blues.

Tony Mowbray and Steve Cotterill enjoyed time at the head of the bookmakers markets with Cotterill`s claims that he had been offered the job denied by Ricoh Arena supremo Ray Ranson.

Ranson`s man was in fact former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd and a compensation deal was agreed with Colchester United for the 39-year-old.

'He is considered to be one of the brightest young managers in the English game and we believe he can take us to the next level," said the City chairman.

'Aidy did that in his first job at Watford, taking them into the Premier League when few people expected them to get there.

'We look forward to working with him in the coming weeks, months and years as we bid to get Coventry City back where it belongs.'
