'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Thorn: 'Thought we were terrific'

After going down to a goal in the second minute of added time at Middlesbrough, City's caretaker boss was in upbeat mood even though it was his second defeat since he took charge.

'I thought we were terrific,' said Andy Thorn. 'We controlled the game for long periods against a well organised and managed side and we're disappointed not to be going back with three points. I thought the players were fantastic.

'Our remit was to keep the club in the Championship and this we have done. The boys have embraced the change in our style and we now need to kick on.'

The Sky Blues now have four days to prepare for the last home game of this topsy-turvey season when high flying Reading are the visitors. The Royals still have everything to play for so hopefully City can close the home season on a high in front of a good crowd.
