'If It's Football, It's Vital'

MD urges caution

Coventry City managing director Paul Fletcher is trying to keep a rein on his optimism as the new season draws closer.

The Sky Blues have signed a number of new players to add to the bulk of the squad that finished eighth last season, and there are plenty of encouraging noises coming out of the camp during pre-season.

Fletcher though told the Evening Telegraph: 'We have started to assemble a team which looks like it might be knocking on the door of the play-offs and yet, we have to keep drawing ourselves back a little bit and remember that it is a three-year plan.'

what is it about the air in our board room that makes all our chiefs think what they are doing is right!? Until the finances are sorted PROPERLY we will stick in the doldrums.

Surely though skyblueox in the absence of someone prepared to invest a good deal of his own money to clear the debts, the board have only two options. Sell off our best players or try and attract investment for new ones. At least they are trying something which should see better gates and more money coming in?
