Preston ready for Sky Blues battle

Preston gave themselves a glimmer of hope of making one of the greatest ever escapes from relegation trouble by stunning Scunthorpe 3-0 at Glanford Park on Tuesday night, a result that saw the Iron sack their manager in a desperate bid to retain their own Championship status.

Phil Brown has overseen an improvement in performances at Deepdale but wins were still hard to come by until midweek.

'We've got to do it all again on Saturday, it's going to be tough - they've got no manager yet and it's going to be another battle,' 27-year-old striker Iain Hume told the club's official website.

'We've been needing to get that three points since December, we just need to make sure we keep working hard, keep doing everything the right way and I'm sure that the three points will come again.'
