City turn down £2m McSheffrey bid

A £2m bid for Coventry City striker Gary McSheffrey from local rivals Birmingham has been turned down.

Acting chairman Geoffrey Robinson said: 'Gary McSheffrey is not for sale, he is central to our plans and a key element in 'Operation Premiership'.'

The 23-year-old notched 17 goals last season operating from a wide-left position and is wanted by Blues boss Steve Bruce as he looks to strengthen his attacking options in the wake of Emile Heskey's move to Wigan.

17 goal hero's don't grow on trees, but then multi million pound offers are also rare for championship players. not worth selling unless a few half million pound players are just about to sign as replacements.

£2m is a bit low considering Andy Johnson went for £8.5m albeit he did do it in the Premiership a couple of seasons ago.

he is worth 10 to 15m he is a great player and is well able to compete in the top levels.dont sell him.

seems that Adams is putting together a decent young squad so you need to keep your best players. Blues wouldn't be that much of an upward step
