Timbers delighted with City win

Portland Timbers head coach Chris Agnello is hoping that his side's penalty shoot-out win over the Sky Blues at the weekend will give them a confidence boost.

'It means a lot to our players,' Agnello said after a 4-3 win for the Americans.

'It gives us a lot in terms of confidence. It helps these boys to know that they can play against very good players from another country.

'It was great to get a winner either way tonight.'

The game ended 1-1 in normal time and Timbers goalscorer Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar said afterwards: 'We have to hold each other up to that standard, that when we step on the field, whether it's Coventry or not, we have to perform to our highest ability.'
