Bristol boss upbeat but Carey misses out

Coventry City look to build on an encouraging draw with Leicester when they return to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday to face a Bristol City themselves in the midst of an upturn in fortunes.

Boss Keith Millen was delighted with his side's display in the weekend win against Scunthorpe and also the return from injury of striker Nicky Maynard.

'Nicky's return has given the whole club a lift and he has clearly not lost his goal touch,' Millen said after Maynard sealed victory against the Iron.

'We need to keep looking after him because it is all too easy for muscle strains to develop after a long lay off, but I couldn't be happier with the way he is playing.

'He looks like he has never been away, which is a tribute to how hard he has worked while recovering from the surgery.

'We are not safe yet by a long way, but this was a very big result for us.'

Louis Carey however will not be facing his former club after sustaining a fractured skull in the Scunthorpe game following a clash with Joe Garner.

Elsewhere, Michael Doyle's link up with Micky Adams at Sheffield United has not gone well as the Blades remain winless under the former Sky Blues boss, Saturday's defeat at home to Derby putting another nail in their relegation coffin.
