City look to lift the gloom

Nottingham Forest come to the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night in buoyant mood despite their FA Cup defeat at West Ham.

That result aside the Reds are on an excelllent run of form and pulled off a transfer coup on Monday with the loan signing of Liverpool left-back Paul Konchesky.

Despite manager Billy Davies often voicing his fears about a lack of investment in his squad, many Coventry fans would be delighted with the kind of options available to the Scot and also at tasty loan signings such as Konchesky and Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal who spent a short spell at the City Ground earlier in the season.

For City the transfer window, which was supposed to herald the exit of Keiren Westwood, actually became about the sale of 17-year-old Conor Thomas to Liverpool.

Much has been said about that surprise deal on Tuesday and much of it has been negative.

Coupled with a nosedive in fortunes on the pitch over the past six weeks and a demoralising reverse at Birmingham on Saturday, the Sky Blues and Aidy Boothroyd really need three points from this game.
