Liverpool spring Sky Blues transfer shock
Having been handed his first Coventry City start on Saturday against Birmingham City in the FA Cup, few would have thought it would be a farewell appearance for the 17-year-old starlet.
That looks to be the case however as Premier League Liverpool have come in with a deadline day deal to sign Thomas, on loan initially before a permanent move in the summer.
Aidy Boothroyd waxed lyrical over Thomas after the weekend game at St Andrews, saying 'we think a lot of him'.
So do Liverpool by the looks of things after making one of the more surprising moves of the transfer window.
