Late drama as Sky Blues go through

Coventry City survived a nervous final ten minutes to seal a place in the FA Cup 4th Round by beating Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday.

The Sky Blues were well on top in a first-half in which they scored twice from two well executed moves which ended in Eastwood and Baker finding the net.

City could have had more but in the second-half the game became more and more scrappy as the Eagles gained a foothold.

A goal for the visitors was followed by a penalty which Keiren Westwood proved himself equal to as the City goalkeeper once again made himself a home hero.

Aidy Boothroyd, speaking after the game, professed himself delighted with both his side's performance over 80 minutes and also with the displays of Baker and O'Halloran, both of whom took their chance in the starting line-up with aplomb.

"We are in the hat and that's what it's all about - getting through," he said. "And, also, considering the run we've had, it was nice to get a win."
