The Sky Blue Year: December

Having raised fans expectations with a solid run of form throughout November, Coventry City continued their upward momentum into the final month of the year.

Denied his opening goal for the club a week before, Marlon King settled a tale of two penalties at the Ricoh Arena to see off Middlesbrough.

The Sky Blues then went back to the scene of a defensive horror show last season and frustrated Reading to a goalless draw.

That set up a trio of clashes with promotion chasing sides but while 10-man City could count themselves unlucky to lose at home to Norwich, Cardiff and Queens Park Rangers brushed them aside to give a wake-up call to hopes of a return to the top-flight.
