'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Sky Blue Year: November

A good month in October and an attractive fixture against Leeds United to kick off December drew a crowd of over 28,000 to the Ricoh Arena but the majority went home disappointed as the visitors won an exciting game 3-2.

The Sky Blues then suffered defeats on the road at Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace but showed that they had become a more resilient outfit under Aidy Boothroyd by scrapping for a win at home to Burnley and then easing aside Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.

Marlon King almost scored his first for the club in that final fixture, his shot on the turn hitting the post and going into the net via goalkeeper Joe Murphy who was credited with an own goal.

'I think it will be very difficult to take it off him, that's what all the players were saying in the dressing room,' Boothroyd insisted afterwards.

'We'll give it to him because he has had a tough game, their centre-halves I thought played really well.'
