'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Sky Blue Year: September

The least surprising transfer to take place in the Championship this season finally went through in September as Coventry City and Marlon King agreed terms on a deal that brought the striker back into football after his jail sentence.

'I am very grateful for the chance Coventry City have given me and I look forward to working with Aidy again,' King told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

King's debut for the Sky Blues came towards the end of the month in a 2-1 home reverse against Preston which typified an inconsistent run of form.

City had been largely outplayed at home to Leicester in a 1-1 draw before recovering from defeat at Swansea to gain a welcome three points at Bristol City.

After performing well in defeat against Preston, Aidy Boothroyd's men then were second best when Doncaster came to the Ricoh Arena but emerged victorious thanks to Gary McSheffrey's late goal.
