City boss hails 'great' defender news
Central defender Ben Turner has become a real talisman for the Sky Blues this season and the 22-year-old's progress has been marked with a new three-and-a-half year contract at the Ricoh Arena.
'He's got everything,' said Aidy Boothroyd of a player he made a first-team regular in the opening weeks of the season, until Turner suffered a knee injury.
'He's been a real mainstay of the team and I believe with his talent, attitude and temperament that he can all the way to the very top.
'So we are very pleased to have agreed a new contract with Ben and it is great news for the club.'
On a day when chairman Ray Ranson confirmed that the club's investment in players dropping down from the Premier League, such as Carsley, McSheffrey and Jutkiewicz, meant that City continued to lose money on a regular basis, Turner's deal is another sign that the club hierarchy are continuing to speculate on the playing squad in order to achieve the long-term aim of returning to the Premier League.
