Both bosses upbeat after Ricoh clash

Both bosses upbeat after Ricoh clash

Both managers found plenty of positives to take away from Saturday's game at the Ricoh Arena in which two goals from Grant Holt gave Norwich City victory over a Sky Blues side who played for an hour with ten men.

While visiting boss Paul Lambert felt the dismissal was 'harsh', Aidy Boothroyd chose not to contest Aron Gunnarsson's red card, saying 'the letter of the law is that it is a sending off'.

Inevitably the Canaries dominated possession and Lambert felt his side kept the ball 'excellently'.

Boothroyd meanwhile said: 'We had to defend for long periods. I thought there was an assurance about us.

'Against teams like Norwich that have good possession some teams will cave in but we didn't. We were resolute and dogged and the longer games go on we grind teams down but we didn't do that because of a defensive mistake.'
