Boro aware of Sky Blue resurgence

Boro aware of Sky Blue resurgence

Weather permitting, Coventry City will host Middlesbrough this weekend looking to add to the misery on Teesside after what has been a dismal season to date.

The Sky Blues lie in the play-off places approaching the 20-game mark and have been more than a match for every side they have come up against so far.

Boro fans got their wish when former hero Tony Mowbray replaced Gordon Strachan and new number two Mark Venus, while feeling that his side are on the right track, knows that City are a different proposition under Aidy Boothroyd.

He told Middlesbrough's official club website: 'They've done great this season, the new manager has put his own stamp on it.

'He's bought in a few players and they'll give anyone a game in this league.'

Last season's corresponding fixture ended in a 2-2 draw, the home side fighting back from two goals down in a game that was later cited by Boro chairman Steve Gibson as the one that made up his mind over parting company with Gareth Southgate.
