'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Aidy gets two out of three!

Burnley manager Brian Laws felt his side were in 'complete control' of Saturday afternoon's game at the Ricoh Arena and that 'it looked as though there was only going to be one team who were going to win the game.'

And one team did win the game, the home team thanks to Michael Doyle's excellent strike as the Sky Blues were rewarded more for their spirit and endeavour than any kind of flowing football.

'I think it was important we put a performance in, I said that before the game - I wanted a performance, a clean sheet and to win 1-0,' said Aidy Boothroyd afterwards.

'We didn't get a performance, far from it, but we did get the result in the end against a very good team.'

Two out of three then for the City boss who was right to say as well that his side 'have played a lot better than that and lost.'

Burnley were in charge for the first 20 minutes or so but City gradually got used to their system and battled back into it. We would not have won that game last season

all credit to City after three defeats. 100% effort from everyone and a deserved win. For all Burnley's pretty football it was just that.
