'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boothroyd backed to fire up City

Graham Alexander returns to his hometown on Saturday looking for Burnley to improve on their poor away form and start to put down a marker for an immediate return to the top-flight.

He knows however that despite the Sky Blues recent hiccup that the Clarets are in for a tough game.

"It`s always a hard place to go and Saturday will be no different,' said the veteran.

"Aidy Boothroyd knows the division inside out and he`s an experienced manager, even though he`s relatively young.

"He knows the division, he knows how to make teams hard to beat, and Saturday`s going to be that way.

"They`ve had three defeats on the trot, but I`ve spoken with Clarke (Carlisle) about Aidy Boothroyd and he`s a really positive person so he`ll be looking to win three points on Saturday.'

Daniel Fox is ruled out of a return to the Ricoh Arena through injury but Jack Cork is set to play. The on-loan midfielder made his first start for England Under-21's in midweek.

For City meanwhile Clive Platt and Keiren Westwood are both fit for the game.
