Sky Blues go fourth with Blades win

Sky Blues go fourth with Blades win

Gary McSheffrey continued his great run of goalscoring form to give Coventry City the lead halfway through the first half at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon.

With Sheffield United struggling for goals that strike always looked like it would be enough and so it proved as Aidy Boothroyd's side proved once again that they are becoming a very tough team to beat in the Championship.

The Sky Blues now lie a very healthy fourth in the table and with an army of Leeds fans coming to the Ricoh Arena next weekend everything points to a big crowd and an exciting game.

Speaking after the game the buoyant City boss praised his side's resilience against 'probably the best team we've played this season', adding: 'We stood firm when we had to and played football when we could. That was a good combination. The scoreline tells you that.'
