Can City take advantage of Blades blues?

Coventry City travel to Bramall Lane on Saturday looking to consolidate their top six position and take advantage of a Sheffield United side who are currently treading water in the Championship.

A glorious promotion to the top-flight and a host of exciting cup runs under Neil Warnock seem a long way away now for Blades fans who have seen their side gradually settle back into second-tier mediocrity over the past couple of seasons, the very place of course where the Sky Blues are trying to get out of under Aidy Boothroyd.

Gary Speed is the man now charged with reviving United fortunes but, early on in his reign is finding it every bit as difficult as Bryan Robson and Kevin Blackwell before him.

A live BBC audience saw at close quarters the task confronting Speed on Saturday evening when his men were comfortably brushed aside by Doncaster Rovers.

The transition to a more pleasing style of play is obviously going to take time given that Speed took over after the season had started and it is to be hoped that City, who are looking more and more like a well-oiled outfit with every game, make the most of playing United away from home rather than later in the season.
