Barnsley strengthen ahead of City clash

Having lost Jay McEveley to injury during Tuesday night's heavy defeat at Burnley, Barnsley have moved quickly to sign a replacement in time for Saturday's trip to the Ricoh Arena.

Matt Hill of Wolves has joined on a one-month emergency loan deal and will the left-back slot against the Sky Blues, who will look to translate their performance against Cardiff and Aidy Boothroyd's post-match optimism into a tangible reward.

And they could not have chosen opponents more likely to succumb than Barnsley.

Last week, Vital Coventry looked at the nature of bogey teams in relation to the upcoming game against Ipswich where City had previously a dire record.

The boot is on the other foot however this weekend with Barnsley having taken just 2 points from a possible 30 in their games against the Sky Blues since the turn of the century.

Boss Mark Robins though is looking forward to the game, telling his club's official website: "We had an important meeting on Wednesday and we have to make sure we take those words on into this weekend's game."
