'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tongue biting and respect

Sky Blues boss Aidy Boothroyd was in reflective mood after last nights thrilling encounter with Cardiff City.

'Early on we showed them far too much respect, we weren't the only ones who were showing them respect but that is for another day and a letter to the referees people' he said.

The Sky Blues deserved at least a point, but must learn from last night that you have to concentrate all of the time because the moment you switch off, as in the 86th minute, you will be punished.

On the subject of the crowd's attitude towards Jay Bothroyd, did that have an adverse effect, with the player keen to make his mark and silence the boo-boys?. When Bothroyd was with City he stood out as a quality player but with a somewhat languid style, but was never given a fair chance to settle because the majority of the fans were on his back the moment he made a mistake.

He certainly seemed to enjoy his moment on Tuesday night.
