Super Sky Blues take the points

Coventry City ended their poor run of form at Portman Road with an impressive 2-1 win against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon to continue their solid start to the Championship season.

Clive Platt and Lukas Jutkiewicz did the damage with the Sky Blues then holding off a late charge from the home side, started by Jason Scotland's strike.

"It was a good three points but we won't be getting too excited," said boss Aidy Boothroyd after the game, praising both his side's attacking intent in the first half and their determined defending after the break.

"It was one of those where we had to defend for our lives and you have to do that in the Championship. We did it really well."
