'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coventry City round-up

A very quiet week on the Sky Blues front as Aidy Boothroyd takes advantage of the international break to drill his troops for two very tough Championship fixtures upon their return to action.

A good result at Ipswich on Saturday and a tasty-looking fixture with Cardiff a week on Tuesday should ensure a decent Ricoh Arena turn-out, with low attendances the main talking point amongst City fans.

The club have not been blind it seems to the empty seats blighting the Ricoh and have appointed an American sports agency to head a drive for new and lapsed fans to come back.

Jermaine Grandison returned to the club following his loan spell at Tranmere Rovers, while Sean Jeffers continues to impress at Cheltenham, who moved into the League Two play-off places with a narrow win over Northampton Town at the weekend.

Boss Boothroyd meanwhile is looking forward to having five new players at his disposal before Christmas as his injury list starts to slowly clear up.

The crocked quintet of Freddy Eastwood, Chris Hussey, Stephen O`Halloran, Gary Deegan and Isaac Osbourne are all on their way back to a return to training.
