'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Will Preston's luck change at the Ricoh?

Preston North End are the visitors to the Ricoh Arena this weekend, desperately searching for a win to kickstart their spluttering season.

Financial constraints meant most fans expected a season of struggle but even the patience of the most undertstanding supporters will be tested by a recent run of defeats.

Wednesday night saw two late Wigan goals knock PNE out of the League Cup, a derby defeat to add to Burnley's incredible recent comeback at Turf Moor.

'I'm not looking for excuses but we just aren't getting any luck - (we) hit the bar, post - it's game over if that went in,' said manager Darren Ferguson after the game at the DW Stadium.

'Again we have lost a game late on, people will accuse us of not being fit enough, nonsense.

'One thing I would say is the last 20 minutes we didn't keep it well enough, we invited pressure. We have got to have more composure.'
