'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A win and a '£5m player' for City!

'I think we are getting a £5m player for nothing.

'I'm very happy with my squad as it is, but Marlon has been a terrific player at a high level.'

The words of Aidy Boothroyd after Saturday's game at Bristol City, confirming that Marlon King will sign for the Sky Blues on Monday after a protracted saga which began the very day that the former Watford boss took the Ricoh Arena job.

The news comes on top of an excellent win at Ashton Gate, sealed by another goal from defender Ben Turner.

'We had 14 players unavailable for this game and yet throughout the team there were good performances,' added Boothroyd.

'I wasn't here when the club last won away so it was an important hurdle to overcome. Now we really have something to build on.

'We were defensively solid and impressive offensively so I have to be very satisfied. And I believe we can still do better.'
