'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boothroyd turns bad cop after City defeat

Aidy Boothroyd showed a hitherto unseen side to his nature after Coventry City's defeat by Millwall on Saturday afternoon, publicly criticising midfielder Carl Baker after his quickfire sending off.

Having seen his side equalise an early Martin Cranie own goal, Boothroyd felt that 'only one side was going to go on and win it' only for substitute Baker to receive two yellow cards in the space of a few short minutes.

'That sort of indiscipline is just poor, poor behaviour,' he said of the former Stockport star, who has yet to show his form of last season under the new manager.

'It is not going to be tolerated.

'It's been a problem in the past that we've been too soft - and I'm not soft. I don't want soft players, I don't want stupid players and I don't want indisciplined players.

Opposite number Kenny Jackett praised his side's response to City's equaliser.

'It was a little bit of a disappointing goal and perhaps we'd had more of it up until that stage but it went to one each and the last half hour was a big test - were we going to fall away or did we have enough to step up a gear?
