Coventry City have confirmed that they will not be offering a contract to former Southend United player Francis Laurent. He has been on trial at the Sky Blues since the player's reported back for pre-season training.

But according to the Coventry Telegraph today the signing of Marlon King is very close to being completed.

All parties involved are talking in a positive manner so we could be seeing at CV6 a player who is going to divide opinion right down the middle, with the pressure on him from the start not only to behave but to get fit and score goals.

With the transfer window closing in, the Sky Blues have also confirmed their interest in Bolton youngster Danny Ward while Richard Wood has been linked with a move back to Sheffield but to the red side of the city.
