Celtic/Westwood rumours set to run and run

Keiren Westwood's future is again the subject of plenty of media talk on Thursday despite the fact that Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that no new offer has been made for the goalkeeper since Celtic's 'derisory' bid last month.

Reiterating his hope that the Irish international will sign a new contract at the Ricoh Arena, Boothroyd knows however that much can change over the course of the next 20 days, as the transfer window hype reaches fever pitch.

Celtic are inching closer to selling Aiden McGeady to Spartak Moscow in a £9.5m deal and manager Neil Lennon will then look to make further additions to his squad before the deadline.

That could involve a loan move for former Sky Blue Craig Bellamy and could still see a renewed bid for Westwood should he feel the need to add another goalkeeper.

Elsewhere, former City loanee Jack Cork is back in the Championship, having joined Burnley for the season from Chelsea.

There is going to be plenty of business done in the final days of the transfer window. I think though that if Westwood goes it will be to the Premier League and not Celtic.

According to the papers on Saturday, Celtic may go for Given if he is left out of Man City's first game
