'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Game on

The Sky Blues have now completed their preparations for the new season and have a nearly full squad to choose from. A doubt surrounds the fitness of midfielder Aron Gunnarsson who has problems with his back.

While welcoming the fans from Portsmouth to the Ricoh you cannot help but think how lucky they are to have a club to follow. The management and various owners over the last four years have cheated the fans, the local butcher and baker and St. Johns Ambulance brigade by spending obscene amounts of money that they never had any chance or intention of paying back.

To pay the 'the football related' creditors in full is outrageous and we must hope steps are taken in the future to treat football clubs no differently to anyother business, especially all of us pay our tax, national insurance and VAT, ontime, everytime.

Portsmouth are now about to find out over the next 46 games what it is like to play on a level playing field rather than abusing the rules.

But to the true fans of Portsmouth we say welcome to Coventry City and the Ricoh.

Thanks for the welcome - looking forward to it. Can anyone recommend any decent pubs between the train station and the ground?
