Baggies draw ends City preparations

Coventry City fans got their first chance to see some new signings and returning stars for the first time at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday as the Sky Blues drew 1-1 with Premiership newcomers West Bromwich Albion.

Gary McSheffrey marked his return to the stadium with the opening goal while Lee Carsley, Richard Keogh and Lukas Jutkiewicz also started.

Aidy Boothroyd handed a 30 minute try-out to Frenchman Francis Laurent, with the wideman a free agent after leaving Southend United earlier in the week.

All eyes now turn to the opening game of the season, against Portsmouth next Saturday.
