Sky Blues stay solid to land Walsall win

Sky Blues stay solid to land Walsall win

Coventry City continued their rock-solid defensive form during pre-season with another clean sheet on Saturday, this time at the home of League One side Walsall.

With a back five consisting of Westwood in goal, Keogh, Hussey, McPake and Turner, manager Aidy Boothroyd will again be pleased to see the good habits of his first summer in charge being put into practice.

Freddy Eastwood and Shaun Jeffers settled the game with second-half goals and with the likes of Cranie and Doyle coming off the bench and new signing Carsley not involved, competition for places is heating up with the big kick-off just two weeks away.
