Sky Blues versus...Scunthorpe United

Coventry City enter their 10th successive season at Championship level with another new manager at the helm in the shape of Aidy Boothroyd.

The former Watford and Colchester boss will lead his new team into action against 23 opponents, who Vital Coventry will be looking at over the next few weeks.

Head-to-head: The sides met for the first ever time in the league in 2007 and have played each other on three subsequent occasions, Scunthorpe winning both of their home games, City winning one and drawing one at the Ricoh Arena.

Transfer dealings: No direct dealings between the clubs have taken place since the turn of the century.

The man in charge: Nigel Adkins has twice guided the Iron into the Championship and last season achieved arguably the more difficult task of keeping them in the second tier of English football.
