International trialist plays in Sky Blues win

Coventry City eased to a 2-0 victory over SV Gaflenz in Austria on Saturday morning to hand Aidy Boothroyd a winning start as manager.

Trialist striker Orlando Smeekes of the Netherlands Antilles, played the whole game, a report of which can be read on the official club website by clicking here.

City now return to the UK for a fixture with Nuneaton in midweek.

Boothroyd confirmed after the match that Smeekes would be invited to stay with the team and look to impress further back on home soil.
