Sky Blues versus...Preston North End

Coventry City enter their 10th successive season at Championship level with another new manager at the helm in the shape of Aidy Boothroyd.

The former Watford and Colchester boss will lead his new team into action against 23 opponents, who Vital Coventry will be looking at over the next few weeks.

Head-to-head: Preston have been Championship ever presents since the Sky Blues dropped down from the top flight and the sides have met on 18 occasions since 2001.

The figures make poor reading for City fans who have seen their team notch up just 2 wins out of those 18 games!

Transfer dealings: Elliott Ward spent a short spell on loan at Deepdale last season while his namesake Gavin made a free transfer move in the same direction in 2004.

The man in charge: Darren Ferguson succeeded Alan Irvine at the start of the year and after some getting to know you time with his squad will be looking to push on this season.
