Sky Blues versus...Hull City

Coventry City enter their 10th successive season at Championship level with another new manager at the helm in the shape of Aidy Boothroyd.

The former Watford and Colchester boss will lead his new team into action against 23 opponents, who Vital Coventry will be looking at over the next few weeks.

Head-to-head: 6 meetings have taken place between the sides since the turn of the century, the Sky Blues winning 3, losing 2 and drawing 1 of them.

The Tigers 2-0 win at the Ricoh Arena in September 2005 was the first by a visiting side at City's new home.

Transfer dealings: Very little in the way of direct transfer between the clubs over the past few years.

Of the current squads, Hull's George Boateng was a popular figure at Highfield Road when joining Coventry from Feyenoord in 1998.

The man in charge Iain Dowie's short-term reign at the KC Stadium ended with Hull's relegation to the Championship and the club have also confirmed that Phil Brown will not be returning from his gardening leave.

Steve Cotterill, strongly linked with the Ricoh Arena manager's post earlier in the summer, was also in contention to succeed Brown but has now opted to take over at Portsmouth.
