Sky Blues versus...Burnley

Coventry City enter their 10th successive season at Championship level with another new manager at the helm in the shape of Aidy Boothroyd.

The former Watford and Colchester boss will lead his new team into action against 23 opponents, who Vital Coventry will be looking at over the next few weeks.

Head-to-head: Championship meetings were a regular occurence before Burnley's promotion under Owen Coyle.

The teams have met 16 times since 2001 with Burnley winning 9, the Sky Blues winning 5 and 2 draws.

Transfer dealings: Have been few and far between since the Sky Blues relegation although Dele Adebola was loaned out to Burnley at the back end of the 2003/04
season.

Daniel Fox did not move directly from club to club but arrived at Turf Moor less than six months after leaving the Ricoh Arena last summer while Jack Cork played for both clubs on loan from Chelsea in 2009/10.

The man in charge Brian Laws has plenty to prove after spending time in charge of two relegated clubs last season.

He has made a busy start to the summer, signng the likes of Dean Marney and Chris Iwelumo as well as getting a number of players to sign new contracts.

'Everybody seems to question whether I'm going to be here next season, but we are planning for the future and I want to be part of that,' Laws told BBC Sport in May.

'It's a fantastic club with magnificent supporters who deserve to have another go at it in the Premier League.'
