Championship transfer latest

The transfer market is slowly hotting up in the Championship as teams begin to shape their squads for another 46-game marathon next season.

Paul Connolly has left Derby County to join division newboys Leeds on a three-year deal.

Elsewhere in Yorkshire, Sheffield United have snapped up Johannes Ertl, a free agent after his exit from Crystal Palace.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website: 'He's a good lad who can do a very solid job at right-back, central midfield and even centre-half.

'He has played enough times in the Championship for me to know he can come in and do it for us here.'

Blackwell is also in the market for a new goalkeeper after seeing Paddy Kenny team up with his former boss Neil Warnock at QPR.

Leicester City meanwhile have snapped up one of last season's most impressive League Two performers.

Left-back Tom Kennedy arrives on a free after the expiry of his Rochdale contract.
