Very good news for the City

With Villa Park unavailable due to planned building work the London Olympic committee has awarded the Midland's set of games to the Ricoh. Also in the running were Birmingham City, Leicester City and Derby County.

There will be up to 10 games played at the stadium in both the men's and woman's tournaments.

Due to Olympic rules on branding the Ricoh will be re-named 'The City of Coventry' stadium for the duration of the games in the summer of 2012.

This is a massive boost for the City and surrounding area and a big thank you is due for all of those involved in making this happen-very well done.
